2.4 Platform vs Protocol Roles

Parax distinguishes between protocol-layer operations and platform-layer services. The protocol layer comprises permissionless smart contracts, token standards, and oracle integrations. It governs token minting, ownership logic, marketplace interactions, and verification attestations. This layer is open, extensible, and composable with external DeFi systems.

The platform layer refers to the user-facing interface, asset onboarding tools, and coordination with off-chain actors such as vaults, experts, insurers, and logistics providers. While the platform facilitates access and guides user interaction, all critical asset logic remains enshrined on-chain via the protocol.

This separation ensures that Parax remains resilient, trust-minimized, and integrable with other RWA protocols and capital markets, while also maintaining regulatory flexibility and operational efficiency.
